DOCTRINE QUESTION 113

QUESTION 113:
How many resurrections will likely follow the first resurrection and what is the order and time of each?

ANSWER:
This is a very good question because many believe in a general resurrection, which the Bible does not teach. That there are two resurrections one of the saved and one of the lost is clear in Revelation 20:5-6. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power. The order of the first is: 1 Corinthians 15:23-24 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming. Then cometh the end...

1. Christ firstfruits; the only one so far with a glorified body.
2. Those that are His when He comes, 1 Thessalonians 4:16,“. .and the dead in Christ shall rise first..”
3. Then the end ones in Revelation 20:4, And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

This ends the first resurrection and only includes the saved. Those who will be judged and lost will not be raised until the end of the 1000 year kingdom as stated in Revelations 20:5-6.

Will you be in the Rapture? Only if you are in Christ. You cannot be in Christ by any other way than repenting of your sins against God and trusting in the sacrificial death of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is repent or perish (Luke 13:3) It is believe on Him or die in your sins (John 8:21) The choice is yours, so don’t blame God if you perish.
